What does the name "SANCHI" mean?
SANCHI broadly means Collection in Hindi (the national language of India).
SANCHI is also the name of an Indian Goddess LAKSHMI who is the Goddess of wealth, prosperity, abundance and food crops, grains.
With our name, SANCHI Foods, we wish to pay tribute to our Mother Earth and thank her for the vast biodiversity on this planet and providing us with such an abundant collection of nutritious Food Crops.
What Beans and Lentils are used in your Snacks ?
The main ingredients of our snacks are Green Mung Beans , Black Gram Beans and Horsegram Lentils.
All these crops are native to Asia and tropical Africa.
They have been some of the oldest beans used by ancient cultures and are revered for their excellent nutrition offering.
One of oldest and natural sources of Plant Based Proteins that are staples in South Asian Vegetarian Cuisines.
Where are SANCHI Snacks made?
We ethically source our Beans and Lentils from Farmers that practice regenertive farming practices like no- tilling, crop covers, crop rotation and farm eco-diversity.
Our Snacks are proudly manufactured in India in a FDA registered, ISO 22000 certified facility that provides economic empowerment to local farming communities that are also supplying the ingredients.
What is so special about your three ingredients? Why are they called Ayurvedic Superfoods?
We are really thrilled to introduce the three main ingredients in our crisps : Green Mung , Black Gram and Horsegram Lentils.
We are proud to be the worlds first ever snack brand to have all these three ingredients combined to give an amazing, crunch, savory satisfaction with a well rounded nutrition.
One serving of these snacks gives you 5 gm of Protein, 5 gm of Fiber and 30% of your daily iron.
Most Plant based proteins are not considered complete proteins but all these three beans in the right proportion (our secret sauce) provide you with all the 9 essential amino acids (building blocks of proteins in our body) .
These three ingredients together have better nutritional offering when compared to Quinoa or Chickpeas and the protein is completely bioavailable without using any isolate powders ( most protein snacks, bars have those and are not easily digestible. ) .
Each of the three ingredients have been recorded in Ayurvedic Texts for their nourishing, strengthening abilities in various soup recipes, medicinal oils, curries etc and were primarily used as protein sources by ancient cultures for their excellent nutritional qualities.
Are SANCHI SNACKS gluten free, vegan, soy free, nut free??
We are vegan,
gluten-free, soy-free, nut-free. As a small startup, we are currently working on spreading our broader message of celebrating food diversity and currently do not have the funds needed to pursue the actual certifications.
Are there any allergens in SANCHI SNACKS?
All of our products are produced in a facility that is completely free
from wheat AND gluten, however we are not a certified gluten free facility.
While our snacks are vegan and nut free, some of our seasonings are processed in the facility that also processed peanuts, and tree nuts and dried milk products.
